DESCRIPTION:The Empire State Supreme Ewe Show is a new statewide event celebrating the best breeding ewes from across New York. Hosted by Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension\, the show will bring together champion animals from county fairs and livestock shows for a final competition at the end of the fair season. \n\n\n\nThe inaugural show will take place September 13\, 2026 at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Albion\, New York\, in conjunction with the Orleans County Fall Open Class Sheep Show. This creates a full weekend opportunity for exhibitors\, with the Open Class Sheep Show on September 12 followed by the Empire State Supreme Ewe Show on September 13. \n\n\n\nCounty fairs and livestock shows across New York are invited to participate by sending their Supreme Champion Ewe to represent their show. Preference will be given to champions from Open Shows. The workshop provides a clear\, practical overview of how to effectively integrate sheep grazing into solar site management\, grounded in real-world experience and industry best practices. \n\n\n\nThe training will include a morning session on Lake Champlain in Burlington’s South End\, followed by an on-site tour of the Danyow Road Solar project in Sheldon\, VT. Participants will gain a firsthand look at how grazing works in practice and leave with actionable insights to support successful implementation.
