SUMMARY:ASGA Call 98: Planning for Healthy Solar Sheep Management - A New Resource from ASGA
DESCRIPTION:Having a good flock health management plan allows solar graziers to uphold animal health standards while reassuring solar owner and operators that their farmer partners are following industry best practices. \n\n\n\nWhile plenty of excellent sheep health resource exist\, until now there has not been a set of standards for healthy sheep management on solar sites. ASGA is proud to present our new “Guide to Developing a Flock Health Management Plan in a Solar Grazing System” to fill that gap. \n\n\n\nThe resource is meant to guide solar graziers as they develop flock health management plans with their contracted veterinarian. This will help ensure animal health remains at the core of their solar grazing operation. \n\n\n\nAt the webinar\, an expert panel of solar graziers\, veterinarians\, and extension specialists will go through the checklist and discuss key aspects of implementation. After the presentation\, there will be an audience Q&A with the speakers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlanning for Healthy Solar Sheep Management – A New Resource from ASGAWednesday\, June 3rd\, at 2:00pm ET \n\n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration link: https://luma.com/n82eibz4

SUMMARY:New World Screwworm in the United States: Guidance from the American Sheep Industry Association
DESCRIPTION:There are now confirmed cases of New World Screwworm (NWS) in the United States. The American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) has published important guidance for sheep producers on how to prepare for it\, implement risk reduction\, and treat it.  \n\n\n\nAt this special webinar\, Dr. Rosie Busch\, who co-authored ASI’s guide with Dr. Cynthia Wolf\, will walk us through that guidance and explain how to stay updated on NWS developments. Dr. Busch will also discuss where graziers can find information on interstate animal movement requirements in their states. \n\n\n\nFollowing Dr. Busch’s discussion\, Dr. Jake Thorne from Texas A&M Agrilife Extension will provide updates on how NWS is affecting Texas.  \n\n\n\nFinally\, Dr. Hannah Varnell will cover guardian dog treatments\, and Texas solar grazier Chad Raines (Key Farms) will discuss how he is communicating with solar industry clients about NWS. \n\n\n\nThis webinar is for informational purposes only and does not replace the need for on-site veterinary expertise.  \n\n\n\nPlease consult Screwworm.gov for the latest updates from the USDA. This is an important and evolving issue that every grazier should be aware of. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNew World Screwworm in the United States: Guidance from the American Sheep Industry AssociationTuesday\, June 30th\, at 8:00pm ET \n\n\n\n\nRegister here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration link: https://luma.com/79zqd7qn
