Business owners Sara and Joseph Kidd specialize in grazing Katahdin sheep on solar arrays and raise and sell lambs for market. They have recently incorporated virtual fencing into their system and are using these collars to help them better manage their grazing. They will share their story and discuss the pros and cons of grazing sheep under solar panels and their experiences with using the virtual fencing system. \n\n\n\nSponsored by University of Maryland Extension \n\n\n\nUniversity of Maryland Extension programs\, activities\, and facilities are available to all without regard to race\, color\, sex\, gender identity or expression\, sexual orientation\, marital status\, age\, national origin\, political affiliation\, physical or mental disability\, religion\, protected veteran status\, genetic information\, personal appearance\, or any other legally protected class. The workshop includes a live demonstration on a site grazed by solar sheep.  \n\n\n\nNew solar projects are creating opportunities for sheep producers to graze their flocks on solar sites and start solar grazing enterprises. We look forward to hosting sheep producers from the state and nearby areas to learn about running a solar grazing operation. \n\n\n\n**This training is sold out. Please refer to our website for upcoming trainings. ** \n\n\n\nLocation: Marian University Ancilla College9601 Union Road\, Plymouth IN 46563 \n\n\n\n\nClassroom location: Lindenwood Building\, Evergreen Room\n\n\n\nInstructions: Park in Lots D and RD.
