Grazing for Profit Field Day
June 7 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm EDT
Livestock producers and pasture managers are invited to attend an upcoming “Grazing for Profit” workshop taking place Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at LC Ranch in Union City, Pennsylvania. Registration check-in for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m.
This day-long event offers a unique opportunity for producers to learn practical strategies in small ruminant and pasture management while networking with fellow farmers and industry professionals. Hosted by Leon Gehman of LC Ranch, the event highlights real-world management applications on a working Katahdin sheep farm.
The event will include sessions on pasture fertility, small ruminant management inputs, identifying and incorporating unconventional pasture plants, and rotational grazing planning. A special focus will also be placed on managing internal parasites through tools such as FAMACHA scoring and fecal egg count testing. Details on how to get FAMACHA certified will also be discussed, and attendees will have an opportunity to practice FAMACHA scoring, a requirement for FAMACHA certification.
Registration is now open. Adult tickets are $30, children (ages 8–18) are $15, and groups of four or more can register at a discounted rate of $80 until May 30th. After May 30, registration increases to $40 for adults and $20 for children; those under 8 attend free.
