Become an ASGA Certified Solar Grazier
Solar grazing requires a unique bundle of skills. Success calls for expertise in sheep management and handling, vegetation establishment and control, site design, power plant safety, contract negotiation, budgeting, insurance, and media relations. Becoming an ASGA-Certified Solar Grazier will help you stand out to prospective solar company clients and facilitate success in your enterprise. The course teaches key topics and best practices fundamental to solar grazing and takes place both in the classroom and on an actively grazed site.
ASGA offers these certification courses directly and also partners with the American Lamb Board and the Center for Agricultural Resilience to offer a wide selection of dates and locations. As an ASGA member taking a Certified course, you will earn a digital badge to use in marketing your services and be able to list your new status on the Solar Grazing map.

ASGA Certified™ Solar Grazing Training Providers
Solar grazing training programs currently certified by the American Solar Grazing Association.
ASGA is a direct training provider. Our staff delivers training for solar graziers and solar professionals throughout the country. Our programs teach the unique set of skills necessary to succeed at solar grazing. Our courses consist of virtual prerequisites followed by two days of in-person training in the classroom and on an actively grazed solar field. Students receive valuable take-home resources for further study and reference.
Upon course completion, students are recognized as ASGA Certified Solar Graziers or ASGA Certified Solar Professionals. This status includes a digital badge, listing on ASGA’s solar grazing map, and inclusion in the Certified Solar Grazier and Certified Solar Professional Directory.
Center for Agricultural Resilience
Our three-day workshop on solar grazing is an innovative approach to sustainable land use that combines renewable energy production with responsible livestock grazing. This unique experience offers a deep dive into the intricacies of solar grazing, led by experts from White Oak Pastures and solar site owners/managers. Over the course of three days, you will explore various aspects of solar grazing, from site tours to contract negotiations, and gain insights into how this practice can be integrated into diverse farm operations.
American Lamb Board
The American Lamb Board is excited to offer a Three-day intensive ASGA-Certified Solar Grazing Training for sheep producers across the US. Solar grazing provides an opportunity for both new and experienced producers to expand their sheep operations and maintain a sustainable business. This training will provide the education for graziers to succeed as vegetation management service providers within solar arrays. Participants completing the course will be recognized as ASGA-Certified Solar Graziers.
