Update on ASGA Certification for Solar Grazing Training

With so many new members joining at such a fast clip, some of you may not be aware of ASGA’s Solar Grazing Training Certification. This program was just launched in late 2023.

ASGA Certification™ for Solar Grazing Training recognizes educational programs teaching key topics and best management practices fundamental to using sheep to manage vegetation on solar energy sites. Proposed courses are carefully vetted to see that they include every topic listed under a comprehensive set of standards.

Once you have taken a certified course, you are recognized as an ASGA-Certified Solar Grazier. This includes a digital badge you can use in your own media promotion, and a unique icon on your listing on the ASGA solar grazing map.

To find a course, check out this page on the ASGA website. There are currently three course providers offering multiple courses in upcoming months. Over 200 solar graziers will be certified by the end of 2024. This a great start, and there is capacity for even more training opportunities.
