A Quick Guide to Agrivoltaics Monitoring & Research Design

A Quick Guide to Agrivoltaics Monitoring and Research Design is now live!

This guide, developed in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, outlines why consistent, comparable data collection matters, which variables should be monitored, and how to design sampling to capture microclimates. Read more here.

New ASGA Short Films

Counting Sheep

In Northeast Indiana, Greg and Evan Gunthorp are raising nutrient-dense, grass-fed lamb beneath solar panels, expanding their family farm across hundreds of acres while staying true to their traditional practices. Counting Sheep tells the story of how solar grazing is opening a new path for independent farmers to grow, innovate, and thrive. Learn more here.

Fuzz and Buzz

Over 70% of US honey and lamb are imported, creating a huge opportunity for rural America to create more homegrown agricultural products. Fuzz and Buzz features Gray’s LAMBscaping and Siller Pollinator Company and shows how sheep and bees can work together to create a beautiful landscape. Watch the short film here.

New ASGA Staff

We are pleased to welcome two new ASGA staff members!

Eric Bronson is joining the team as our new Technical Advisor. Eric is the owner of James River Grazing Company, a prescribed grazing business based in Charles City, VA. He’s an Animal Science graduate of Montana State University and spent time working on large, range-based cattle and sheep ranches throughout the West and did civil service as a firefighter/paramedic.

Eric will be hosting our new Cafe Chats on the last Thursday of the month at 8pm ET, as well as providing technical assistance to our members.

Breanna Reed is joining the ASGA team as our Member Specialist!

Breanna owns and operates Bee-Ewe-tiful Farms. In 2023, she attended a solar grazing workshop hosted by the Indiana Sheep Association. She immediately found solar arrays in the local area and deployed sheep to manage vegetation. She is a member of ASGA, Indiana Farmers Union, board member for Indiana Sheep Association, and participated in the German Aspen Institute’s 2025 policy forum on renewable energy and agriculture. She attended the 2025 Lamb Summit hosted by the American Lamb Board in Idaho. She continually advocates for dual-use solar at the local and state level.

Sponsorship Update

Here are a few highlights of what ASGA has accomplished with the support of our incredible sponsors and corporate members. Thank you for being part of ASGA!

Consider joining as a corporate member to support our work.

American Sheep Industry Association’s Annual Conference

The ASGA team attended a successful and eventful ASI 2026 convention in Reno, with valuable conversations, new connections, and shared knowledge across the sheep industry. Solar grazing had a strong presence throughout the event, from a busy ASGA booth to multiple panels and presentations highlighting its growing role in modern agriculture. Members from across the country connected at a special ASGA happy hour and throughout the conference, reinforcing a strong and engaged community. The week wrapped up with an in-person board meeting focused on future initiatives, building momentum for an exciting year ahead.

Certification Training Workshops

Earlier this month, we headed to Texas, bringing together solar developers, operators, and experienced graziers for another “What to Expect When You’re Expecting Sheep” workshop. The hands-on program combined classroom and on-site instruction, giving participants a clear look at how sheep can be effectively integrated into solar projects. The workshop was generously sponsored by the AgriSolar Alliance (Solar Energy Industries Association) in partnership with RE+ Events. That same week, an ASGA-ALB solar grazier certification course further expanded training opportunities. These efforts reflect the continued momentum behind solar grazing and the collaborative work driving the industry forward.
